Bart Green, DC, M.S.Ed., DACBSP
Dr. Bart Green has more than 20 years of experience in both private and hospital settings. Whether illuminating the advantages and obstacles of an “integrative practice,” discussing research evaluation and publication, or making history meaningful, Dr. Green will be a hit with the doctors attending your convention or educational program. Combining a touch of humor with a wealth of practical knowledge, the doctors can take home a myriad of personal experiences. Dr. Green will delight, inform, entertain and enlighten the attendees of your next program.
Dr. Green is a full-time chiropractor proudly serving our country’s uniformed men and women as a contracted chiropractic physician at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He works in an integrated health care system with medical doctors, osteopaths, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapists and others.
Every day, he has the opportunity to use his training as a sports chiropractor who is part of a comprehensive health care team to work with and rehabilitate service members—including complex combat casualty victims—and return them to healthy lifestyles.
An advocate and teacher of the history of chiropractic for his entire career, he has served in multiple offices for the Association for the History of Chiropractic and taught chiropractic history at chiropractic institutions. His writings on the history of chiropractic have appeared in numerous professional journals. Dr. Green is the editor-in-chief for the Journal of Chiropractic Education. He also is the associate editor for National University of Health Sciences’ three journals: theJournal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine, and the Journal of Chiropractic Humanities.
Elise G. Hewitt, DC, CST, DICCP, FICC
An internationally recognized speaker, author and leader in the specialized field of chiropractic pediatrics, Dr. Hewitt's unique combination of clinical knowledge, dynamic speaking style and leadership experience give her lectures a distinctive flair. As she entertains and educates her audiences, blending research with clinical pearls, Dr. Hewitt guides the doctor to become more comfortable to both relate and interact with the youngest members of our society.
Dr. Hewitt is board certified in chiropractic pediatrics and certified in craniosacral therapy through the Upledger Institute. An alumnus of the University of Colorado, she has been in private practice since graduating Summa Cum Laude from WSCC in 1988. In her waiting-list pediatric practice, she specializes in the care of infants.
Dr. Hewitt has been published in scientific literature and is a co-author of the "Chiropractic" chapter in Integrative Pediatric Medicine, part of Andrew Weil's integrative medicine textbook series. She has served on the steering committees for several large-scale studies being conducted in the field of pediatric integrative medicine. Dr. Hewitt frequently conducts lectures both in the U.S. and abroad, educating chiropractors about the finer points of pediatrics and educating pediatricians and other allied practitioners about the role of chiropractic in pediatric healthcare. Her dynamic, yet approachable style and well-organized presentations make her an audience favorite.
Dr. Hewitt currently serves as president of the American Chiropractic Association's Pediatrics Council. She is a founding member of both the ACA Pediatrics Council and the Pediatrics Council of the International Chiropractors Association. In addition, she serves on the board of directors for the multidisciplinary Integrative Pediatrics Council. In recognition of her service to and achievements within the chiropractic profession, Dr. Hewitt has been elected a Fellow in the International College of Chiropractors
Lori Holt, RN-BC
After attending Lori Holt's program, doctors will be armed with all the information they need to tackle timely topics. Ms. Holt engages the audience with the real-life practical issues that confront Doctors of Chiropractic.
Before joining NCMIC in 2012, Lori worked as a nurse for 30 years. Her extensive nursing background in cardiology has provided her with a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Among other things, she has significant experience making rounds in the hospital with cardiologists and performed cardiac triage in the emergency room and in house prior to the physician’s exam.
In addition, Lori has worked as an emergency room nurse manager, and she and her husband previously owned a business where they taught employees at industrial companies basic life support and emergency care techniques.
This combined background enables Lori to share hands-on tips and guidance to D.C.s as they face the ever-changing world of healthcare.
Thomas E. Hyde, DC, DACBSP
Dr. Thomas E. Hyde’s vast experience with sports chiropractic has understandably made him an expert on this topic. His personable style will provide a relaxed atmosphere for open discussions, including what can go wrong with the knee and how to treat it. Doctors will leave the program with a complete understanding and appreciation of the pathophysiology of the athlete.
Dr. Hyde obtained his biology degree from Florida State University and graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic.
He became the chiropractor for several high schools and universities, including being the chiropractic consultant for the Miami Dolphins from 1990 through 1997. He also attended a two-week sports medicine internship at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in 1986 and served as the U.S. chiropractor to the 1987 Pan American Games in Indianapolis. He completed the second edition of Conservative Management of Sports Injuries, published by Jones and Bartlett in 1997 with his co-editor and co-contributor Marianne Gengenbach, DC.
Dr. Hyde served as an advisor to the ACA Sports Council was a member of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians, and served as medical director for the Miami-Dade County Sports Commission. In 2009, he was selected as “Person of the Year” by Dynamic Chiropractic. Dr. Thomas Hyde is currently a member of the Advisory Board for the Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, an advisor to Spine-Health and a past president of the Florida Chiropractic Association. He now spends his time lecturing and teaching and has traveled across the U.S. and internationally, teaching the treatment of athletic and soft tissue injuries.
Fabrizio (Fab) Mancini, DC
Self-healing expert Dr. Fabrizio Mancini is an internationally acclaimed wellness leader, bilingual speaker and author. Dr. Fab teaches people how to the boost the body's natural power to heal from the inside out through healthy diet, exercise and physical, emotional and spiritual self-care. His best-selling book, The Power of Self-Healing, was released in paperback Jan. 15, 2013. He has been featured on Dr. Phil, The Doctors, FOX News, CNN Español, Univision and other top media. He is president emeritus of Parker University in Dallas, Texas, and a graduate of the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University's Graduate School of Education.
After transitioning from President/CEO to President Emeritus of Parker in 2012, Dr. Fab expanded his focus to transforming more organizations and individuals in global wellness and integrative healthcare. Dr. Fab serves as an adviser to governmental and civic organizations including the White House Commission for Complementary and Alternative Medicine and the Texas Governor’s Advisory Council on Physical Fitness.
David Marcarian, MA
David Marcarian, MA, founder of Precision Biometrics, and inventor of the revolutionary MyoVision Wirefree PhysioMonitoring™ System. A former NASA researcher, Marcarian was awarded a $450,000.00 NIH grant to develop the MyoVision. He has an undergraduate degree in physics, and a master’s in psychophysiology. Marcarian’s new Wirefree DynaROM was recently credited with one of the largest Soft Tissue settlements in our history, and he established the validity of the MyoVision in a major State Superior Court Decision against 300 insurers and the State of Florida.
Recently, the AMA selected his system as the “tool of choice” for evaluating soft tissue injury as shown in the book “The Practical Guide to Range of Motion Assessment”. He holds over 80 patents worldwide, and brings to the business end of Chiropractic his very unique experience as a race car driver. He designed the MyoVision to help the subluxation-based DC establish credibility in a very data-driven world through the use of objective, physiological data. Marcarian is proud of the fact that his invention, the MyoVision, is designed and manufactured entirely in the United States.
Kathy Mills Chang, MCS-P, CCPC
Since 1983, Kathy Mills Chang has been providing Chiropractors with hands-on training, advice and tools to improve the financial performance of their practices. Kathy is a Certified Medical Compliance Specialist (MCS-P) and is one of fewer than 100 certified in the chiropractic profession. Now celebrating her 31st year in chiropractic, Kathy is not only a well-known and sought-after speaker, but has served in National and State level Chiropractic Organizations, sits on diverse boards and advisory councils related to the profession, and is frequently invited to address Chiropractors in important conferences and seminars around the country.
In 2007, Kathy Mills Chang, Inc. was created to help chiropractors make and keep more money. As THE chiropractic reimbursement and compliance specialists, their training arm, KMC University, effectively analyzes and enhances the financial performance of Chiropractic practices. Specializing in coding, documentation, insurance, patient financial procedures, Medicare and compliance, Kathy leads a team of 17 to deliver these solutions to the profession, both personally and virtually… making the implementation quick and cost-effective.
Ron Oberstein, DC
Dr. Ron Oberstein, or known by his colleagues and community as Dr. Ron, graduated from Life Chiropractic College in 1981. Since then, he has had private practices in both Boston and San Diego, and has provided care for elite athletes, celebrities, and heads of state. With an emphasis on Family Care, Dr. Ron sees patients of all ages, helping them achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
In addition to Family Care, Dr. Ron lectures to Chiropractors and at venues worldwide on the scientific validation of chiropractic, and the safety and effectiveness of the chiropractic adjustment. He currently coaches doctors to become the best that they can be, and to develop practices that place the care of their patients first. Dr. Ron and his wife of 26 years, Dr. Mary Oberstein, also started “Hands for Life”, an organization serving less fortunate children and adults in Tijuana, Mexico with Chiropractic Care. He is also Vice President of the International Chiropractors Association, on the Board of Regents of Life Chiropractic College West, and provides supports to other non-profits and businesses within the Chiropractic Profession.
When asked what his greatest accomplishments are, Dr. Ron immediately said, “My three daughters.” With all three either completing or currently studying to be Doctors of Chiropractic, Dr. Ron and Dr. Mary have truly developed “A Family of Wellness!”
Terry Yochum, DC
Dr. Terry R. Yochum is a second-generation chiropractor and a cum laude graduate of the National College of Chiropractic, where he subsequently completed his radiology specialty. He is a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity (1967). He is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology and served as its Vice-President and President for seven years (1983-1990).
Dr. Yochum is currently Director of the Rocky Mountain Chiropractic Radiological Center in Denver, Colorado, and an Adjunct Professor of Radiology at Southern California University of Health Sciences (formerly LACC).
Dr. Yochum has presented over 1,200 lectures worldwide. He has had over 250 scientific articles published in both the chiropractic and medical literature. The first edition of Dr. Yochum's text, “Essentials of Skeletal Radiology”, is a benchmark publication for the profession. This textbook sold over 100,000 copies since 1987. It is the required text in radiology at all 40 chiropractic colleges worldwide and is being used in over 100 medical schools around the world.
