Regence BlueShield Implements Chiropractic Legislation

Beginning in early October, Regence Blue Shield started notifying doctors of chiropractic how they are planning to implement the legislation passed in the 2007 legislative session, known as SSB 5597.

An introduction was presented to WSCA Board members in late September for input and discussion. WSCA was asked to allow Regence to communicate their contracting process prior to any interpretive activity by the WSCA and we agreed. The following information has been provided by Regence Blue Shield and your initial questions should be directed to them at the contact numbers provided.

Your timely response to their letter will be critical. Their intent is to make a seamless change in the contracts that are currently active so your immediate response to their inquiry is necessary. Please ask your staff to watch out for notices from Regence regarding changes to their chiropractic provider contracts.
