The Washington State Chiropractic
Association (WSCA) is Washington’s only professional
organization representing Doctors of Chiropractic. Established
in 1991, WSCA has been growing strong ever since with doctors
from across the entire state joining forces to protect, promote
and improve the chiropractic profession for a strong and healthy
future for all.
Your Voice
for Positive Change
Through strength and unity, WSCA is your powerful voice affecting
positive, pro-chiropractic change. WSCA employs a full time
lobbyist to fight the battles in our state legislature that
threaten chiropractic’s inclusion and recognition in
our health care system. WSCA stays on top of industry and
policy issues and works fiercely on your behalf to represent
and protect your best interests, keeping you informed every
step of the way. Through direct relationships we’ve
established with insurance providers, WSCA works to facilitate
progress and improvement in chiropractic coverage, benefits
and care for our citizens.
Your #1 Trusted Source for Information
WSCA is your source for credible, timely and accurate information.
WSCA is ready and able to contact the entire membership base
with critical alerts on a moment’s notice through our
broadcast fax and email service. The value of this service
is especially realized during the legislative session when
a call to doctors to assist the WSCA lobbyist during pivotal
moments of key legislation is critical to the final outcome.
WSCA is also extremely proud of its award-winning, professional
publication, Plexus, providing the latest in chiropractic
news, information and events for chiropractors across Washington
State. However, information dissemination is not limited to
internal communication. WSCA also provides a chiropractic
referral service to the general public, with over 2,000 referrals
made through phone, fax and email in 2003!
Your Professional
Development Resource
WSCA is committed to your education and professional development!
Through continuing professional education credits at state-wide
conferences, local seminars, online education and special
events, WSCA works hard to bring you the very best speakers
and seminars to ensure you stay current with the latest research,
knowledge, skills and ideas. In addition to your continuing
education, WSCA sponsored events are an excellent opportunity
to keep in touch with your fellow doctors as you come together
to learn, share and grow in the spirit of chiropractic.
Everyone's
a Member!
It’s true! Everyone is already a member of WSCA, because
each and every doctor in Washington benefits from the WSCA’s
efforts, initiatives and accomplishments, regardless of individual
membership status. Many doctors pay dues to support the WSCA
and its ongoing success, and we sincerely thank you. Unfortunately,
others do not. We work hard to support all chiropractors in
Washington State. If you are not an active, dues-paying WSCA
member, we hope that you will seriously consider all that
the WSCA does for you, and take the next step toward fostering
a mutually beneficial relationship – JOIN WSCA TODAY!
It's Our Future!
WSCA members, staff, friends and supporters are working together
to shape the chiropractic profession and create a positive,
dynamic environment for chiropractic to flourish in our communities.
We couldn’t do it without you!

Lori Bielinski began lobbying with her labor union
in 1981. Realizing that her position with the telephone
company was going to be eliminated she used the training
tuition money available for laid off employees and
attended massage school in 1990. She joined her professional
association as a student and brought her legislative
expertise to the national level for massage by chairing
the government relations committee for the American
Massage Therapy Association. During Bielinski's leadership
she assisted in passing licensing laws in more than
6 states as a volunteer leader. In 1996 the Washington
State Insurance Commissioner offered Lori a Health
Policy position and she sold her clinic to work as
an insurance regulator. In 2001, during the change
of the elected commissioners, Lori was offered the
lobbyist position for the Washington State Chiropractic
Association. In 2003 Lori was promoted to Executive
Director and has continued as the lobbyist also. Her
knowledge and experience of politics and policy has
lead the chiropractic profession, and those in coalition
with them, through challenges and success.
Jen joined the WSCA in May of 2005. She comes from
a background of non-profit work as a volunteer for
CampFire Boys and Girls, Tobacco-Free Coalition, AFL-CIO,
Washington DeMolay, International Order of the Rainbow
for Girls, and Pierce County Juvenile Court. She graduated
from Western Washington University in 2003 with a
Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. She has training
in conflict negotiation and resolution and was recently
living in The Hague, Netherlands for intensive training
on international conflict mediation and resolution
with trainers and speakers from various levels of
government throughout the world. During her time there,
Jen made sure to travel around Europe on the weekends
with her roommates and check out all of the amazing
sites! When she's not traveling the world (be sure
to ask where her next adventure is going to be), Jen's
outside interests include horseback riding, skiing,
sailing, creating stained glass artwork, and active
involvment with the Juvenile Court on their Community
Accountability Board. She is happy to be part of the
WSCA family and looks forward to meeting everyone
one of you.
Bud Green has served the association as its Corporate
Membership and Program Director since 1996. His responsibilities
include the recruitment and retention of corporate
partners wishing to promote their products and services
to our doctors, and the planning and coordination
of the association's annual conferences and other
continuing education workshops. Bud brings more than
25 years of public relations and marketing experience
to his role with the association.
The Pierce County Arts Commission, The Washington State Legislature, The Tacoma Education Association (TEA), The Simple Majority 4204 Campaign, The I-937 Clean Energy Initiative, The Democratic Party, The Sexual Assault Center of Pierce County (SACPC), Peace Community Center and 90.1 FM Tacoma are all but a few of the multiple organizations and institutions Chris is or has personally been associated with since moving to Pierce County in 2004. A graduate of the University of Puget Sound, he received his BA in history following a review of his groundbreaking thesis Rendered, Redeemed & Transformed: The Social History of Whale Carcass Disposal on Northwest Shores. Chris loves to write, watch spaghetti westerns, and has been depending on chiropractic care since he was five-years-old. He hopes his diverse background will enable him to be a strong asset to the association as he transitions from WSCA's Executive Assistant to Membership Director.
Shaka Forest has been with the WSCA since December 2006. He comes to us with over 8 years of experience working for non-profits including Community Health Centers of King County, Consumer Credit Counseling of Seattle and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. His last position was as an Administrative Coordinator for Community Health Centers of King County. That position involved being a HIPAA Trainer and working for their Homeless Programs. Shaka is a movie buff who brings his unique since of humor to the Association.
